Kate treats Kirsty to a free massage at Spiritual Home, and as they talk about Kirsty’s wellbeing, Kate mentions she can see Kirsty’s pregnancy bump. The relaxed mood is somewhat soured by the smell of manure, which leads Kate into a rant about Brian. Losing her concentration, Kate becomes too forceful with Kirsty’s foot massage, and Kirsty begs her to stop before she causes an injury! Over herbal tea, Kirsty listens as Kate worries about being the only sibling with a business connected to Brian. Kirsty suggests an escape plan. Kate seizes on this – she’ll move Spiritual Home to the Rewilding site.George struggles to get started with his interview with Bill, who offers to come back to it – they enjoy coffee and a chat, with Bill offering something stronger and drinking from a hip flask. George is staying off the booze, supporting Amber, and reckons that’s the only way he’s good at supporting. But Bill praises grafter George, before revealing a few things about himself. Bill apologies for how he and Anne Marie behaved towards George back in February, and says he deserves a clean slate. George levels with Bill about how things need to be between Amber and her parents, before Bill tries to persuade George about the benefits of the swish new cot they’ve got for them. Bill feels that as grandparents they should have an input, and this cot is what their grandchild needs.

Chris gets a message from Harrison who’s due home in a couple of weeks, and wonders about living arrangements for himself and Martha. Chris is called away by David to the equestrian ring – the ground’s looking too hard to compete on. Discussing the Borchester Show media plan, Amber wonders about some gaps. David insists all will become clear. He also advises getting some content from the Rural Crime Team. George sympathises about the recent attack on the sheep, and mentions Ed can’t show his Texel sheep due to Brian - Keira isn’t keen to step into the spotlight. Amber’s dad, Bill, shows up looking for David. Bill has a stand at the Show and parks up his impressive prop 4x4 vehicle. Amber’s taken aback to learn about the ‘Platinum’ package Bill is getting, and that she’ll be writing up a piece on him for the Echo. George sheepishly explains his recent chat with Amber’s mum. Amber’s concerned about her parents lording the Platinum deal over her. Bill has another surprise for them – a baby shower gift in the form of a cot with plush features. Amber protests that they have the Grundy cot. George tries to mediate, offering his gratitude. But Amber feels put on the backfoot by her parents. She just wants the show done and her parents out of their lives. To help, George insists he’ll do the agreed interview with Bill.

But when Ed quickly solves a problem, he’s thrown when Brian insists he needs Ed next Thursday to meet an engineer – Ed’ll have to miss the Borchester Show. Ed also agrees to shift manure to Broad Acre, despite his concerns it’s right by Spiritual Home. With her sessions disrupted by the smell, Kate confronts Ed and has it out with Brian, sensing a vendetta and telling Brian she supports Adam keeping Xander away from him. Brian’s stung. Keira’s early for her first day of work experience at Rewilding, relieved to not be at Amside. Working on woodpiles with Kirsty, Keira opens up and admits she’s not looking forward to George and Amber’s baby arriving, as she thinks George will be useless. Kirsty encourages Keira to step up - not as a baby carer, but in holding George to account. Despite not wanting to talk about babies, Keira enjoys the cute footage of the beavers. She opens up about running away last Christmas, and George always being the centre of attention. Keira has started to talk to her parents about it now, and Kirsty says to keep going. And if Keira ever needs space, there’s some here for her. Later Keira enthuses about her work experience to Ed. Ed’s pleased, and takes the opportunity to ask a favour – can Keira show the Texels for him next Thursday at the Borchester Show?

Kirsty responds that she hasn’t really told anyone yet.Tom’s admiring images of greenhouses, and Natasha humours him. He’d prefer her to take a proper interest and be supportive. She confirms her support but is more focused on the boxes of botanicals she’s received to inform her own business idea. She assures Tom that even though she’s open-minded about the new parlour, she’s still on board with his project. Heartened, Tom grins that Helen might have a fight on her hands. Kate seeks Ian’s advice on a customer complaint at Grey Gables but he’s too busy to help, and snaps at her. He later apologises; he’s not sure he’s cut out for this work. There’s only so far the Martyn Gibson management coaching handbook can go. Kate probes further and Ian admits to being unsettled at home. As well as keeping Xander away from Brian, he’s spotted that Adam’s looking at properties far afield. They’ve made a life in Ambridge, and Ian’s afraid Adam could burn himself out. Kate thinks the one good thing that’s come out of the situation is the amount of quality time Adam can now spend with Xander. She counsels Ian to see Adam’s enforced banishment from Home Farm as an opportunity rather than a disaster. Ian concedes
