Patricia Bredin (United Kingdom 1957)
Tribute to Patrica Bredin (United Kingdom 1957): Earlier in the week Radio International received the sad news of the passing away of Patricia Bredin at the age of 88. Patricia was the very first United Kingdom representative at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1957 with the song "All" . Radio International takes a look back at her music and life in our tribute to Patrica Bredin.
Patricia Bredin's performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany, with the song "All", created 3 important landmarks: 1. It was the UK’s first entry at Eurovision; 2. It was the first song ever sung in the English language at Eurovision; 3. It was the shortest song ever to make it to a Eurovision Grand Final. Coming in at just under 2 minutes (1 min and 52 secs), (although Finland actually entered a shorter song, "Aina mun pitää", just 1 min and 27 secs long, in 2015, which didn’t progress beyond the semi finals, in 2015!).
