    On this episode, we discuss our January 2022 book club pick She Who Became the Sun by  Shelley Parker-Chan, a  queer re-imagining of the rise of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. In the last days of the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty reign over China, an unnamed daughter takes on her dead brother's name to survive as a novice monk after her family is attacked by bandits.
