Folge vom 16.04.2018Episode 33 - Total Saints PodcastFootball is just a game, right? There are more important things in life, right? Try telling that to Southampton fans who are currently sat on a weekly emotional rollercoaster (mainly heading in a downward direction!), watching Premier League survival slowly slip away.Saints again found an incredible ability to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory, as they threw away a 2-goal lead against Chelsea this past weekend. Its hard to see them remaining in England’s top division now, but while there’s life there’s hope (right?!!).Ben Stanfield (Host of TSP) is joined by regular guest Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Southern Daily Echo) to review a number of talking points, including that red and white self-implosion in the Premier League fixture, as well as the upcoming FA Cup Semi-Final, also against the Blues.Alongside that the guys discuss Matty Targett’s comments whilst on loan at Fulham, briefly preview Leicester City away in the League later this week, before ending on a high with Adam talking poignantly about Rickie Lambert (footballer and man), who deservedly won the 2018 EFL’s Sir Tom Finney Award. Finally, TSP33 also sees Chelsea fan Garry Hayes, a member of The Chels Podcast panel and Producer of independent documentary The Blue Print, give his views and expectations ahead of that clash at Wembley.Total Saints Podcast is the dedicated weekly Podcast going to the heart of all things Saints.Twitter: @totalsaintspod Facebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspod E-Mail: totalsaintspodcast@yahoo.com Hosted on Acast. Folge vom 09.04.2018Episode 32 - Total Saints PodcastAnother week. Another Podcast. Another Saints defeat. Its an all too familiar pattern this season for Southampton fans. Despite a more committed display at Arsenal (well, certainly compared to last week at West Ham anyway!), it was still zero points collected and another step nearer relegation. Ben Stanfield (host of TSP), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer at the Southern Daily Echo) and Richard Brereton (Saints fan and Head Writer/Editor of Saints Panel) join forces to reflect on the Arsenal game, as well as to desperately search for some hope and optimism ahead of next week's fixture at St. Mary's, against Antonio Conte's Chelsea.Things certainly look bleak for Saints now, with just 6 Premier League games left to play.Alongside that, with the sole purpose to try and lighten the mood (hopefully!), Richard and Ben also rattle through their "Worst Saints Premier League XI's", with some familiar names securing their places - including Ali Dia!But who'd be in yours? Folge vom 01.04.2018Episode 31 - Total Saints Podcast"Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again....."You never quite know how low you can go as a Saints fan - but, after a 3-0 defeat at West Ham, a new level was located for this season! Dreadful. Effortless. Worrying. There are so many words you can associate with Saints' woes at the moment, and unfortunately none of them are positive! In TSP31, Ben Stanfield (host) and Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Southern Daily Echo) try their best - yet again - to be constructive and/or positive, but its no easy task any longer! This Episode looks back at the fallout from the London Stadium, as well as previewing Saints next Premier League match, at the Emirates Stadium vs Arsenal.Sandwiched in the middle (with the sole aim of lightening the mood!), are highlights from the speeches at the official opening (28/3/18) of the SeaCity Museum's new "Southampton Football Club: We March On, Then and Now" exhibition - charting 132 years of memorabilia and stories associated with our great Club/City. Councillor Satvir Kaur, Saints Chairman Ralph Krueger, Lawrie McMenemy and the legendary Matthew Le Tissier all have their say.In the meantime, where do Saints go from here on the pitch? It only looks to be one way - sadly for the fans!!Twitter: @totalsaintspod Facebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspod E-Mail: totalsaintspodcast@yahoo.com Hosted on Acast. Folge vom 26.03.2018Episode 30 - Total Saints PodcastInternational breaks are generally boring affairs for Club supporters but, in light of the season Southampton are ‘enjoying’, its actually been a relaxing time for Saints fans – with little or nothing to worry about for a couple of weeks. Bliss! With Adam Leitch taking (another) well-earned break, Ben Stanfield (host of Total Saints Podcast) is joined by the returning Lucy Highnett (@lucyhighnett on Twitter) and also Aidan Small (Owner of Fresh Saints; @mraidansmall). Lucy, Aidan and Ben reflect on Mark Hughes first game as Saints manager – a win away to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup Quarter-Final – as well as looking at Saints ‘record-breaking’ £43.7m profit, announced as part of this week’s 2016-17 financial results. To finish, the discussion moves on to Saints vital next Premier League game – away to a hostile West Ham United – and the return of a few more weeks of complete nervousness and worry!
